The Ghosts of the Gods
Silence is bliss
CobaltDM - October 20, 2022
The Ghosts of the Gods are a band of pirates located in the northern section of
The Nassa Archipelago. As a collective of thirteen captains and their crews, the organization is organized around collective power, wealth, and one common belief: the world is better without the Eleven (see:
The Sleeping Gods). However, without the dedication of
Baron's Blood or the resources of
The Black Reapers, the group has been losing territory steadily over the past few years. To help combat this, they have recently been importing as much new Tekoran technology as they can afford.
Mandated Antitheism
No temples, churches, or organized religions are allowed in Jorm or its surrounding settlements. The leaders of the Ghosts believe that clinging to the old ways of religion and reverence hold back mortalkind's progress, as evidenced by the recent surge in technological advancement that is slowly spreading its way to Nassa. Some of the captains take this attitude to an extreme, and have been known to slaughter priests and clerics they come across without hesitation.
A Rising Threat
The Ghosts have had two major victories in recent months after two years of progressively losing ground. First, a surprise attack against a Black Reaper settlement along the western edge of their territory has sent the island of Vrakkon into disarray, relieving some of the pressure on supply lines from
The Republic of Tekoril. Then, a captain from the Silver Scoundrels lost his ship and most of his crew to sabotage when an explosive was smuggled aboard his ship docked in A'vfono, an act the Ghosts later took credit for. The undetected and highly lethal nature of these two attacks has put nearby factions on high alert.
