This beautiful 2-story lodge has been aged to fit the surroundings perfectly. All the charms of an authentic northern hunting lodge with the modern luxuries that an authentic Izzy’s Inn offers. Thick beams line the ceilings above while you step into the cozy and warm wooden abode. The common room on the main floor sports two large river stone fireplaces as does each of the main Inn rooms on the second story.
Each of these large spacious rooms have an expansive view of the natural beauty of the
Tafod River, with the eastern wing having a wonderful view of
Tafod Lake. Make sure you take a stroll around the grounds that are located safely in view of the lodge at all times. Before you go, make sure to check out the giftshop to a take a bit of Izzy’s at Tafod Lake back home with you (a special souvenir: one small stuffed toy of the Gylidd-famous Lake Tafod Beast).
Rotating House Special Menu
- Big Bear Steak with smashed potatoes. This hearty chunk of meat is cooked to your liking and covered in our own special mushroom sauce, sourced from the local mushrooms (varies seasonally). It is paired with smashed potatoes with garlic. A glass of Gylidder Red is an excellent choice to pair with this hearty meal.
- Grilled Lake Trout, your choice of seasonal vegetables, and a crusty rosemary bread to soak up the rich brown butter and lemon sauce. Chanter’s Cherry Cider is a lovely choice to pair with this light but filling meal.
- Roasted local Mushroom medley over wild rice smothered in a rich herb sauce. Pairs well with the light aromatic Verdant White.
