Laurent’s Marvels and Eccentricities

This circus troupe based out of the Cann District of Gylidd Syn Aethri is named for the proprietor and founder, Laurent Laurent. They recruit acts from within the district and travel yearly around Gylidd, beginning tours in spring.   They first stop at Fort Ochtwain, spending three nights performing for the Gylidder Guard and their relations. Heading west they stop at Aethrmanse before taking Finfyad’s Span and spending two months traveling the south of Gylidd, making sure to stop in Hynfaol, Odun, and Kor before heading back north. Laurent has always been a smart businessman, so his troupe will make several stops at small encampments to perform -- even if it’s not the entire experience.   Another two months would be spent traveling the western edge of the Inland Sea and along the North Canal. By the end of Summer, Laurent’s would be performing several times along Toraundris’ Span. These performances are considered the jewel of the tour, particularly lovely and unique, and many of the troupe’s patrons will travel to Toraundris’ Span especially for these special performances. Around fall the traveling troupe makes their way to Alwelon and Hangorfeydd, and after many weeks of performance they start the winding path back to the Cann District. In the final leg of their journey, the troupe doubles back to Dreffen Lawr, to make sure the people near the Sea of Bones get to have the Laurent Experience.   The troupe are easily identified by having a large central purple tent with two smaller golden outer tents, and a medium-sized dark blue tent where the acts would prepare. Laurent’s has a great reputation for quality and unique performances, and many performers in the Cann district eagerly apply for openings in the winter.   Laurent prides himself on collecting a variety of different performances, feats of strength, or general eccentricities - the more unique, the better. However, there are many bards of various talents that are a staple of his show. Each performance tries to stir the hearts of the guests using multiple different aspects of sensory stimuli. Open auditions are conducted at a first-come, first-serve basis during the winter months. Once one is a member of the troupe they may come and go as they please after the introductory period of two years with the circus. The troupe often spends a few evenings, during the winter, performing in the Cann district.
