Astratha (Ah-strah-thah)

Astratha is a demon prime associated with fear, revenge, and the night. She is said to have been slain nearly two hundred years ago by Vorozol's armies. Despite this, her armies continue to fight strong in the Abyss. Most scholars believe this is largely due to either a fear of reprisal, or simply that it is easier for her former generals to rally their troops and consolidate power by flying her banners. Other scholars suppose that she may still be alive, leading from the shadows and lying in wait for the proper time to strike.

Modern information about Astratha is rather lacking, and mostly focused on the politics of her remaining armies. Those who do count themselves as her worshippers tend to do so for a variety of reasons - to pray for soldiers loyal enough to continue fighting after their death, for the ability to hide from their enemies, and revenge on those who have wronged them.

Vampirism

Astratha is closely associated with vampirism, and is said to the originator of the curse. Legends say that when Tazan, The Ravenous One was defeated and the demon primacies sprung into being, Astratha took captive two angels.
She transformed them into beings to serve her, and they turned others on her others. Her army grew from those they captured, and eventually this curse passed on to mortals. Each vampire in existence shares this lineage with the demonic god. Many vampires worship the demonic god, while other fear the day she calls upon them to join her armies.
