Demon Primacy
The Demon Primacy are the seven most powerful demonic gods of the Abyss, and are also known as the Children of Tazan.
Legends say that one of the first creations of the Ancient Ones was a being known as Tazan, The Ravenous One. Jealous of the other creatures its creators made, it attempted to destroy all other life as it came into being and consumed their souls to become even more powerful. Receiving no help from the distant Ancients, creatures across every plane banded together to battle The Ravenous One. The war that followed lasted ages and reached every corner of the universe.
At the end of a great battle lasting hundreds of years, Tazan was defeated - but it had become too powerful to destroy. Instead, its soul was split into seven, and each became one of the Children of Tazan. Since their creation, they have fought to control the Abyss, and remain an ever present threat.
Members
The demon primes are some of the oldest entities in existence. Their titles are derived from the aspects of Tazan they are said to have taken when it was split into parts.Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
There have been two recorded instances of a Primacy being slain. It is said that Saggon was once killed and resurrected himself through some dark magic soon after. After his resurrection, he captured or slew each of his minions who defected during his absence.
Astratha is said to have been slain in 2978 EC by Vorozol's armies, under the command of general Kommel. Her armies still fight strong and hold numerous layers of the Abyss, not wanting to suffer the same fate as Saggon's minions should she return, or rumors of her death having been falsified.
Cultural Significance
It is believed that the general story of Tazan and the creation of the Demon Primacy is true, but fact are difficult to discern from fiction due to the age of the tale. Many additional legends have spun off of the story of Tazan. Some say that if all of the Demon Primacy were slain, evil would be eradicated from the universe. Others warn that if all were slain, Tazan would reform from their corpses.
At the very least, there have been several references of Demon Primes referring to other Primes as their siblings, primarily said by Arvok or Mammon.
