Lemure

Lemure are a type of demon that are nearly entirely mindless, with intelligence largely comparable to insects. They are able to take telepathic orders from their superiors, but do not seem to be able to identify allies and enemies on their own, and when not given orders generally roam and attack whatever non-lemure creature is nearby.   While lemures are used to some extent by every demonic army, they are seen most commonly among Vorozol's armies. He jealously guards the secrets by which he is able to create a multitude of lemures from a single soul.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Lemures appear as grotesque blobs vaguely in a humanoid shape, 'standing' roughly 5 feet tall and reeking of burnt flesh. Even if they had enough sapience to form facial expressions, most would be unable - their faces stretched and warped into a permanently scarred form.   Lemure are created from the weakest souls that are unfit for the creation of other demons. The demonic god Vorozol alone knows the secrets to crafting multiple lemure from the fractured shards of a single soul.   Unlike most demons, who are wholly destroyed if killed in the Abyss, Lemures are extremely difficult to destroy. Unless entirely disintegrated, they slowly reform over a matter of days. If 'killed' on the material plane, they similarly reform. Using holy magic can permanently destroy them, as well as if another demon devours their soul.
