Inquisitor

The title of the Inquisitor brings with it a very large political and military power, as well as fear from all those who recognize it. As such, the title is not given lightly, and many Aspirants who attempt to become an Inquisitor find their deaths in the initial tests. However, due to the vastness of the Empire and the large variance between positions, the term Inquisitor can apply to anyone who has received this training from the Inquisition and is a priest of Vindicta, Empire Goddess of Vengeance but it usually separated into two types.
  1. Vasis Inquisitors: These Inquisitors serve as priests to Vindicta's temples and Inquisitorial bases through the empire. They however all are trained to find and purge the unholy in the cities where their temples are located, and are constantly rooting out corruption in the population and nobility residing there.
  2. Erantis Inquisitors: These Inquisitors serve as paladins to Vindicta, roaming the lands and using their vast connections, knowledge and resources to find sources of evil and destroy them. They are the ones who most often drive the people of towns in a frenzied mob and lead them against the horrors that threaten them.
Both types are of equal status within the empire, but with the Vasis Inquisitors having more political power and the Erantis more military power. Both of them, after completing an action that is within their post and they consider notable, inform the Arch Inquisitor of the area the action was taken in about what they did and what resources they had to use. This is then further taken to the High Inquisitor if deemed important and they handle the bureaucracy of the Inquisition as well as judgement on actions taken by Inquisitors. After serving for many years, an inquisitor can be raised to take the position of Arch Inquisitor either at the death of an Arch Inquisitor who has chosen them as their successor, or if the Inquisitor in question does something so important that it deserved to raise him to the highest position of power within the Inquisition to better serve his role and reflect his importance to the empire as a whole.

Qualifications

To attain the rank of Inquisitor, the Aspirant must pass a series of tests of their physical, mental and emotional state, most of which are dangerous, and show both a talent for the role they wish to take, and the drive to make it. After the tests, they go through a period of mental and physical training, depending on their future position style and themselves, as well as induction within the church of Vindicta, Empire Goddess of Vengeance. After the Inquisitor/s in charge of the aspirant think they are ready, the final set of testing begins, which is said to be the hardest of all, but with a higher success rate than the first, as the future inquisitor has received training.

Requirements

Before attaining the rank of Inquisitor, the individual must have served as an Inquisitorial Aspirant under an Inquisitor, and been given a recommendation by them, as well as a transfer to the Arch Inquisitor in Exelnar.

Appointment

After the Inquisitor passes the final test, there is an appointment ceremony, where they are given their Inquisitorial position and badge of honor. The ceremony is attended by the available inquisitors, and the Arch Inquisitor of Exelnar.
