Mandrite

Mandrites serve as a kind of religious leader on Nalan - though not in the traditional sense. Due to the sheer number of religions present on such a small world, there simply isn't the space in which to house a temple or church to each one - and subsequently the holy men and women found within a place of worship must diversify. Mandrites serve more as caretakers of a Polythedral, while also serving as an impressive repository for teachings from all religions. While of course most Mandrites still follow a religion of their choosing, they are not permitted to share which faith they keep with anyone, so as to ensure they can speak on religious matters with individuals from any faith. Most Mandrites seem to have a basic understanding of magic, from what I can tell usually of a Clerical nature. Due to the level of education required to have such a diverse knowledge of the Gods, leading Mandrites are often have the greatest understanding of the Planes I have observed on this world.

Qualifications

A Mandrite is required to have a fairly in depth understanding of every religion in The Book

Appointment

Mandrites are appointed by a section of government, and almost all receive training in a purpose built school in Luminessa

Responsibilities

The key duty of a Mandrite is to take care of their Polythedral, and to ensure that everyone within their area has access to any religious information and advice they may need.
