By all accounts, for the last 100 years Rosewood has straddled a fine line between peaceful, and boring. It's a small town on the coast in the Central Dominance, surrounded by a cursory wooden palisade manned only during The Darkening. The town is mainly based around farming - with the majority of the towns inhabitants living outside outside the walls on large farmsteads - and fishing.
According to official documents, Rosewood has the lowest crime rate of any township throughout the entire Central Dominance, which makes the recent events within the town all the more shocking - there hasn't been a murder in the town for 30 years, and moving from such unprecedented peace to the uncertain violence being experienced now has hit the town hard to say the least.

Rosewood has seen such an impressive level of peace that even during the Darkening, the only thing defending the town is a flimsy wooden palisade. The town also has a handful of guards at its disposal, though few have any real degree of experience.
