Bane
The Black Hand, The Black Lord, Member of The Dead Three
The Archdevil of The Underblaze, the Black Lord of the 9th level of hell; Bane. He was once a member of The Eres, a mysterious race of life givers. Two of these beings; the siblings Eldath and Silvanus, created Naneth and poured life into it. They created life that imitated their own personalities and virtues. Once created, the siblings invited other Eres to make their mark upon the world, making it truly diverse. However, Bane and other Eres of a more aggressive nature were not permitted to create life upon Naneth, as the other Eres wished to keep it a peaceful world, unaffected by strife and danger.
Bane, seething with jealousy and envy of his kin, fled from the sight of Eldath and Silvanus. Now hidden away from their watchful eyes; Bane, along with two other Eres; Bhaal and Myrkul, began to create life in secret. Bane devoted his time to corrupting the pristine world his kin had created, creating fiery volcanoes, sickly swamps and deserts of dust and ash. The Red Wastes was Bane's personal creation. Furthermore, Bane and Myrkul committed an even great sin against the other Eres. They stole away a portion of the Eldar (Elves), Eldath and Silvanus most blessed creations. Using Myrkul's mastery over dark rituals, they corrupted the elves, giving birth to a new hateful race; the Orc. This became known as The Betrayal.
The other Eres soon realized what had been done, and were furious. Sensing his time on Naneth was nearly spent, Bane ambushed another Eres; Armok, in secret and left him to die with great wounds. A great trial was held by the Eres, to decide the fate of the three that had committed such horrid acts. But in a moment of unimaginable cruelty, Bane slew another of his kin; Rainbow Crow. This was the first example of an Eres killing another, and it began a great conflict between the gods that spanned all of Naneth. Bane created scores of dark creatures, raising them from dark pits within The Red Wastes. One of these creatures was named Tiamat; a monstrous dragon, and they fought together against the Eres.
Eventually, Bane and his companions were bested in battle, Bane himself falling in single combat to Torm. The Eres decided to not repeat the most heinous of Bane's crimes and spared his life. Instead, they were banished to The Underblaze, fated to live within the fiery confines of hell forever. Bane, Bhaal and Myrkul became known as The Dead Three.
Worshipers
Those that worship Bane and The Dead Three are individuals that harbor true evil and malice in their hearts. Glorifying and devotion to Bane is considered a high crime and is punishable by death on Naneth. This is why most of Bane's followers reside in The Quaan Empire. Here, legions of Orc, Tiefling and other horrid creatures devote their existences to Bane's teachings. The Quaan Cult, a group of dark necromancers and warlocks have been known to convene with the Black Hand himself. In the Underblaze, Bane rules with an iron fist. He commands legions of demons and devils, all awaiting the chance to ascend to the mortal plane and claim Naneth for their Black Lord. In other places on Naneth, Bane is worshiped mostly by cults or warlocks, always in secret.Artifact
"Baanhamul"; an enormous black hammer, that sweats the blood of Bane’s past foes. Only one with true evil intent could ever hope to even approach such a weapon.
