The Underroad

The Underroad is a central thoroughfare underground controlled by the Uraka'val, and is a primary point of access to its trade network.
Blazes of blue bioluminescent mosses mark its general track underground, though their reliability is questionable; it is generally accepted that traversing The Underroad without a guide (and some guarantee of safe passage from the Uraka'val) is a foolish task.

Geography

Less a maintained road than a network of general directions through the mountains that comprise Uraka'val territory, the The Underroad mixes large, open caverns with winding tunnels.
A mixture of glowing mushrooms and lines of glowing crystals through the walls provide dim lighting over the more traveler-frequented sections of the road. Underground rivers cross its path a number of times, and some of the sections nearer to Drow cities may have larger river sections running alongside the road.
Though primarily cut through stone, sections along The Underroad occasionally run adjacent to expanses of silt, clay, and sand.
