CONCORD

The Coalition Of Numerous Councils On Recon and Defense, abbreviated as CONCORD, is an intergovernmental military alliance that hopes to keep peace between the major factions, prevent crime and combat galactic threats.   The organisation is the brainchild of Thea Hagan, who conceived the organisation as a way to sustain peace in the southern sector of the Milky Way. This endeavour proved to be successful in the long run, as the sector has gone without any major conflict in the two centuries following the organisation’s conception. It is important to know that CONCORD is not a faction. The nations which constitute the alliance retain their own individual methods of governance, as well as their own dedicated armed forces meant for planetary defense. Despite this, both CONCORD and each of the planets’ individual military forces share many things in common such as ranking structure, training and weapons and hardware technology.   While Terra officially owns and controls Millennium Armoury (the major source of military hardware for CONCORD) which gives the planet major decision making power in the alliance, Chorus II and Nightblood also play important roles. A massive influx of Marine Corps and Navy personnel are recruited from Chorus II while Nightblood holds expertise in training and fielding the ever-growing Knight branch with specially-tailored regimes and equipment.

Military

The Peacekeeping Corps

The Peacekeeping Corps is the branch of CONCORD concerned with the operation of land-based expeditions and rapid deployment of infantry across different worlds. This is achieved by the latest and most advanced technology Millennium Armoury has to offer, including the use of starships to transport marine infantry from land to space, and vice versa. Subdivisions of the Peacekeeping Corp allow for teams to specialise in different equipment and combat styles.

Peacekeepers

The standardised unit of the Peacekeeping Corps, these soldiers are trained in general combat, warfare, and security procedures to enable them to cover a wide variety of combat situations and operation requirements. They are most often seen guarding Concord locations or escorting diplomats, but they are also the first to be deployed in minor conflicts or threats to peace. There is some room for soldiers to specialise individually and contribute to their team with a variety of technology.

Peacekeeper Marines

The best Peacekeepers become able to train as Marines, a more elite unit of the Corps. They have much more advanced and varied combat training as well as access to even better technology from Millennium Armoury. They are more likely to be specialised, with squads comprising of a balanced mix of medics, snipers, machine gunners, and expert riflemen. The Marines are the ones deployed to the brunt of major conflicts and large galactic threats, leading the way for their allies with their experience and gunpower.

Rapid Deployment Peacekeepers

Rapid Deployment Peacekeepers, also know as RDPs, are considered to be the special forces of Concord. They are much more heavily armoured and equipped with highly advanced recon and breaching gear, making them experts at CQB, hostage situations, bomb threats, and other delicate and critical missions. In large conflicts they are usually deployed as shock troopers against entrenched enemy positions or key bases. They are much more relaxed within their squads, with many painting or decorating their armour as much as they can get away with.

Concord Knights

The existence of Meta-Humans and other Supernatural species, their proliferation across the known galaxy, and the desire for some of them to join the armed forces has necessitated the creation of an entirely separate branch of the CONCORD military. The training of these individuals is entirely conducted on Nightblood in academies specially designed to evaluate the full nature and extent of each Meta-Humans’ power, as well as providing a training regimen designed and tailored to them. For existing and known Supernatural species, separate regimens exist which have been adapted over centuries to produce the best possible soldiers from these races. These individuals are then given specially-designed CONCORD Knight Armour to provide protection, accommodate their powers and display tactical information. NEEDS REWRITE

Concord Navy

The CONCORD Navy is the branch responsible for conducting space warfare operations as well as exploration and expeditions into uncharted space to benefit the interests of the alliance and/or to increase its territory. The Navy is also responsible for the defense of its current known territory with a dedicated fleet of ships and defense platforms circling each major planet in orbit. In such tasks, full authority of orbital defense fleets are completely ceded to the specific planet’s government authority. It is for this reason that the servicemen serving aboard the ships and platforms comprising planetary defense networks are almost always those who were born and trained on the planet they’re defending. Furthermore, the Navy works in conjunction with the Peacekeeping Corps and is responsible for their transport and deployment as part of expeditions and warfare operations. Lastly, while human servicemen are most common, supernatural species and Meta-Humans are also known to enlist in the CONCORD Navy.
