Armor Durability
Overshields prevent Armor Durability degradation as long as they are active. Once an Overshield has been destroyed however, Armor will begin to take Durability damage. Since Durability loss is tied to taking damage, high rate of fire weapons and Piercing rounds are particularly dangerous. Like weapons, when armor pieces reach certain Durability thresholds, negative status effects are applied to them until they are repaired. These statuses affect damage reduction and damage received.
- Flawed - at 75% Durability, damage taken is increased by 5% per piece.
- Cracked - at 50% Durability, damage taken is increased by 10% per piece.
- Fractured - at 25% Durability, damage taken is increased by 15% per piece.
- Destroyed - at 0% Durability, armor loses all resistance or damage reduction and increases damage taken by 20% per piece.
- When a player's Overshield is reduced to zero and damage begins to affect HP, all armor suffers 0.5% Durability loss.
- Being hit by any attack that causes HP damage, a random piece of armor will incur a 0.1% Durability loss.
- Being hit by a Precision headshot causes head armor to suffer 1% Durability loss.
- Entering Critical Failure and requiring a revive heavily damages all armor, removing an additional 2.5% Durability for all pieces. Additionally, one random piece will have an additional 2.5% Durability loss.
