Elemental Damage

NEXUS utilizes a variety of different elements for both Attacks and Defense. Choosing the most effective damage element to attack with can turn the tide of battle, just as having ineffective resistances may lead to mission failure.   There are eight separate, unique elemental damages that can be inflicted from various methods and sources. Some damage elements deal additional damage to different Elemental Shields and less to others as well as applying specific status effects against targets. There are additional sources of damage as well that don’t necessarily fit into a specific element that do not have corresponding shields, such as Triggers & Ignitions. However, many Ignitions cause elemental damage.  

Ballistic

Attacks from bullets, blunt force, or anything that causes non-elemental based kinetic striking damage. Causes Erosion.

  • - 15% against all Elemental Shields
 

Thermal

Temperature damage inflicted intense heat generation. Causes Scorch.  
  • + 30% to Thermal Overshields
  • + 0% against Entropic Overshields
  • - 30% against Ballistic Overshields
  • - 15% against all other Elemental Overshields
 

Ionic

Electrical damage inflicted by high voltage and electromagnetic energy. Causes Electrify.  
  • + 30% to Ionic Overshields
  • + 0% against Thermal Overshields
  • - 30% against Ballistic Overshields
  • - 15% against all other Elemental Overshields
 

Entropic

Damage caused by the disruption and breakdown of molecular bonds. Causes Entropy.  
  • + 30% to Entropic Overshields
  • + 0% against Plasmic Overshields
  • - 30% against Ballistic Overshields
  • - 15% against all other Elemental Overshields
 

Toxic

Damage from poison and biological degradation. Causes Contamination.  
  • + 30% to Toxic Overshields
  • + 0% against Ionic Overshields
  • - 30% against Ballistic Overshields
  • - 15% against all other Elemental Overshields
 

Radioactive

Damage inflicted by high levels of radiation exposure. Causes Decay.  
  • + 30% to Radioactive Overshields
  • + 0% against Toxic Overshields
  • - 30% against Ballistic Overshields
  • - 15% against all other Elemental Overshields
 

Plasmic

Damage inflicted by high energy particles rapidly colliding. Causes Meltdown.  
  • + 30% to Plasmic Overshields
  • + 0% against Concussive Overshields
  • - 30% against Ballistic Overshields
  • - 15% against all other Elemental Overshields
 

Concussive

Damage inflicted by rapidly shifting molecules due to explosions or atmospheric shifts. Causes Daze.

  • - 15% against all other Elemental Overshields
