The Hellas Basin is a region that holds great strategic importance for humanity. Initially
colonized and mined for its rich mineral resources, it has become a vital source of rare and valuable materials. However, with the
mining operations taken over by the
Red Star militant group, the supply of these resources back to Earth has ceased. The Martian Colonies now focus solely on mining for their own use, providing the Red Star faction with a significant advantage in advancing their military industrial complex. Not all the residents of Mars are in favor of the war, but they have little choice in the matter.
The
Tyrian Union are the citizens of all Martian Colonies, now plagued by the arrival of the Carnax who have been attempting to conquer the red planet, laying siege to its inhabitants who rely on the protection of Red Star. Additionally, construction of a massive crystalline city by an
unknown force has further complicated matters.
Carmine ExoColony
The Carmine ExoColony serves as the first Colony established on Mars. It is a bustling hub where the early pioneers settled to explore and exploit the planet’s resources. This station served as the starting point for human colonization efforts, providing a foundation for further expansion and establishing the necessary infrastructure to support life on Mars. It is the largest of the Colonies by far.
Vermillion Mining Colony
The Vermillion Mining Colony is a crucial settlement in the Hellas Basin. It is home to a mineral extraction facility that produces precious ore used in almost every military application. These materials are no longer able to be obtained on Earth, making them immensely valuable. Due to its resource importance, the Vermillion Colony is protected by a heavy military presence and surrounded by the Rust military base, ensuring the safety and security of the mining operations.
Rust Military Compound
The Rust military base serves as the primary defense outpost for every Colony on the planet. This operating base is strategically positioned around the Vermillion Colony in a massive ring formation, providing complete 360-degree protection to the mining facility. With high defensive walls and automated sentry turrets, Rust forms a formidable barrier against any potential threats.
Ruby Station
Located in the Hesperia Plains, Ruby Station is the second Colony on Mars. This settlement primarily functions as a drilling operation, extracting water ice from beneath the Martian surface. Since water is essential for sustaining life and supporting various activities within the Colonies, it is an extremely precious resource. Despite its critical role, Ruby lacks the extensive military protection enjoyed by the Vermillion Colony. The colonists must rely on their own vigilance and resourcefulness to safeguard their drilling operations and have therefore created their own militia.
Crimson Command Installation
The Crimson Command Installation is a massive subterranean bunker located deep beneath the surface of Mars. The heavily fortified facility serves as the primary operational headquarters and manufacturing hub for the
Red Star military group.
The installation of vast underground chambers houses manufacturing facilities where weaponry, vehicles, and War Mechs are produced. Red Star's elite engineers work tirelessly within these industrial complexes, pushing the boundaries of technological innovation. Enormous automated assembly lines endlessly manufacture equipment for the group's war efforts.
Scarlet Communication Array
The Scarlet Communication Array is a huge tower that serves as a crucial connecting hub and the central point of communication and coordination among all the Colonies on Mars. It is the central core of a technological network that enables near-instantaneous information exchange between the various settlements scattered across the planet's surface. This advanced communication system utilizes high-speed data transmission as the backbone for inter-Colony communication, allowing for real-time sharing of critical data, reports, and emergency alerts. The Scarlet array ensures that all Colonies remain interconnected at all times.
Through this hub, colonists share resources, coordinate their efforts, and disseminate important updates regarding environmental conditions and potential threats. The Scarlet array acts as a lifeline for the Martian Colonies, providing them with the means to stay connected, informed, and united in their shared struggle to survive.
The Dust Fields
Stretching far beyond the Colonies, the Dust Fields represent vast expanses of barren land on Mars. These desolate areas are plagued by monumental dust storms that churn up the Martian soil, creating impenetrable clouds of debris. The storms pose significant hazards, making transportation between the Colonies a perilous endeavor. Transports must navigate through the treacherous Dust Fields regularly, braving the intense storms to deliver essential supplies and maintain connections between the Martian settlements.
