Staggered & Stunned
Stance is affected by Force damage. Force dictates physical damage to the player and puts them off balance. Receiving too much Force damage causes the negative statuses Stagger and Stun.
Force which is generally associated with Ballistic attacks such as standard ammunition and Melee damage. However, each weapon and attack will have its own values, so it is important to pay close attention to Weapons,
Armor, items, Skills, and Abilities to ensure the intended type of damage is being applied or guarded against. Base Stance regeneration is 10 points per second after avoiding all damage for at least 10 seconds.
Stagger
The Stagger mechanic dictates a character’s ability to engage in combat. The Stance meter is a visual representation of a player's susceptibility to being Staggered. Every hit or effect causing Force decreases the meter. The effects of being Staggered or Stunned are temporary but significant. Being Staggered or Stunned at the wrong time can be extremely dangerous. The Stance meter has two thresholds - Staggered and Stunned. When the meter surpasses the Staggered threshold, the character gains the Staggered effect until the meter is positively increased beyond the threshold. The base effects for Stagger begin at 30% remaining Stance. Staggered causes a variety of negative effects:- Forced Staggered animation for 3 seconds
- Movement speed is reduced by 25%
- Accuracy is reduced by 25%
- Recoil control is reduced by 25%
- Ability regeneration speed is reduced by 25%
- Any damage while Staggered interrupts and resets current actions such as reviving a teammate, any skill that requires charging, or using an item.
Stun
Once the Stance meter is completely expended, the character becomes Stunned for a default of 8 seconds. During this period, they experience greatly enhanced negative effects:- Forced Stunned animation until fully recovered.
- Unable to move, attack, or use abilities.
- Damage received is increased by 50%.
- Shield regeneration is stopped.
- Interrupts and resets all current actions.
