Personal history
In his youth, Dood was just a normal shopkeep in a small city. He lived with his wife, Christine, when she became pregnant. For reasons beyond his understanding, she took her own life, killing the unborn child in the process. Dood spent his entire life savings to pay for a high level cleric to resurrect her, but her soul resisted the divine magic and refused to return to the world of the living.
Dood's mind finally broke, madness and giref consuming him until a dark and divine hand reached out to him; Anubis, Judge of the Dead. Offering a chance to find answers, Dood became a Death Domain Cleric in the service of Anubis. His madness, however, ravaged his mind until he all but forgot his original reasoning, his true memory only returning in brief moments of clarity.
