Hyperios
Hyperios is a city mostly notable for its historically significant associations, especially related to the late Second Age, with several historically notable figures, including several Founders of the Federated Union of Eastern Kalin, having worked for the Guild in the late Second Age.
In the common day Hyperios is a small city known for its many museums and historical societies, as well as being an important rail and road hub that lead from Atresa to Cam, as well as towards the Northern territories of the Atresan State.
Demographics
The saying goes "throw a rock in any direction while in Hyperios, and you'll hit at least three historians." While obviously exaggerated, Hyperios has come to have the largest amount of historians and scholars per capita out of any Union city, mostly based out of Hyperios University in the old Castle Hyperios. Hyperios University (HU) serves as one of the foremost libraries with records relating to The Return and the late Second Age.
Beyond the academics, Hyperios also has a large amount of Union Rail workers and conductors in the city, as it serves as an important Rail Hub for the region.
Racially the mirrors much of the Atresan state, being made up primarily of Humans and Wood Elves.
History
The city is notable for being the former headquarters of Guild Hyperios, a notable but small Guild in the late Second Age. Many heroes of the age and notable people worked or came from the guild, including: Tutiro Cam, Gareth Pancem, Sorra Norixious, Joakim Lovdahl, Ci'Me Heartsaran, Rejjie En Ye'Bab, Ian Kadu, Gazira Krakzn, and more.
It was also the site of the Battle of Castle Hyperios, one of the two major battles in the Third Virnosian War that led to the late Second Age rise of the Atresan Empire.
