Tysos

Tysos is a tiny island nation made up mostly of Olark, the strange magical race found throughout Kalin. The people of Tysos spend most of their time worrying about art and literature, and not so much the world around them. While visitors are allowed and welcomed Tysos is so “out of the way” that they are still rare, though this has changed with the Federated Union of Eastern Kalin setting up a naval base on the island, leading to off-duty Union sailors and marines often causing trouble on the small island.   Tysos Olarkian’s are also diverse in religion. While some worship The Mantle many are in fact atheists, a rarity. The majority however aren’t necessarily normally religious, instead they are spiritual and believe that one’s actions echo into the universe and eventually feed back to either the Olark in specific or their family.   Due to the small population governance is handled by a simple democracy where every man and woman can vote at the forum in regards to important matters.

Demography and Population

The island is primarily Olark, either born there or immigrated. Per capita the population has the highest amount of artists, philosophers, and intellectuals on the continent.

Military

The island maintains a small citizen militia to defend itself, but mostly relies on the Union military at this point for major protection.

Religion

Most Olark worship the Mantle, but Tysos is unique for its more "generically" spiritual citizens, as well as a strangely large amount of Atheists.

Foreign Relations

Tysos is effectively in the Federated Union of Eastern Kalin sphere of Influence. While it still rules itself and has its own laws, it uses Union currency and is under Union protection in exchange for a military base on the small island nation.

Agriculture & Industry

Tysos has space for enough farms and fisheries to keep people fed, additionally tiny islands near Tysos contain needed metals such as steel and iron. Anything else it needs, it imports from the Union.
