Diplomatic action

Following the dramatic and catastrophic one-day war, Tarkus of Straka, Aurelia, and the Hopeful Return went to great lengths to bring both Tharrisia and the Union to the diplomatic table.   It took more than a year, but finally both great powers agreed to come to the table.   Held on the famous Hopeful Return, the Conference lasted several days. A lot of diplomatic maneuvering managed to convince both nations to sign a non-aggression pact and agree to resolve diplomatic issues going forward by consulting third parties (namely Straka, and Aurelia, with the Hopeful Return being a middle ground).   This has not broken the tension between the two nations, but it at least gave both nations a diplomatic "relief valve" option.
