Neria Garmadon
"If I can make a difference in even one person's life, then I have served my purpose."Compassionate, selfless, and determined, Neria knew from a young age that she wanted to help others. Her family struggled financially, but she never let that stop her from perusing her dreams, starting her first job at only 12. She worked hard enough in high school to achieve a university scholarship, and soon found herself working as a nurse in Ninjago City. She sent money home to her family every month, and in turn, lived minimally in a small apartment. When an earthquake struck in the outer perimeter of the city, blocking off all routes for emergency vehicles, Neria rushed there on foot despite being off-duty, and began patching up citizens with what supplies she could scrounge. It was that fateful day that she met Lloyd Garmadon, exhausted and covered in dust and blood from pulling others out of the rubble - and yet, looking every bit the hero she knew he was. Together, the pair managed to help almost a hundred people stay safe and stabilized until help arrived. Moved by Neria's bravery and compassion - and her love for her family - Lloyd offered to buy her dinner. At first it was a friendly gesture, but by the end of the evening, neither one of them could deny the sparks between them. Within the year, Lloyd proposed to her - and she accepted, joining him to live at the monastery, and working at a hospital closer to home. Their lives only grew more joyous with the birth of their twin children, Kenji and Zara. Neria was a loving mother who devoted every bit of time she could to them, and Lloyd supported her when she had to return to work. With the help of their friends, it seemed like they had it figured out, and the worst of it was over. But the Garmadon family could never be happy for long. While Lloyd and Neria were weekending in Ninjago City, a villain broke loose from Kryptarium and ravaged the city. Lloyd insisted Neria remained behind at the hotel while he faced the foe - but she refused to leave his side, charging in headlong to go help the citizens injured by the destruction. Lloyd found her again just in time to watch as the villain turned to him with a deranged grin - and stabbed her through the heart in the name of revenge.
