Fort Sundercliff
An old border fort dating back to the Reman dynasty. It was destroyed by Mehrunes Dagon during the events of the Three Banners War in the middle Second Era. The fort was left in disrepair for centuries until after the Oblivion Crisis, when the Legion began to rebuild Cyrodiil's defenses. With the secession of Black Marsh, the Elder Council voted to reinstate the Imperial Limitanei, the border patrol, who made Sundercliff their headquarters. Although Morrowind is still technically a part of the Empire, the Limitanei focus their efforts on keeping Dunmer refugees out of the Heartland.
