Hagre Farsolar

Sempi A'Ra (Archmage) Hagre Farsolar

Hargre Farsolar was the Head of House Farsolar, and Shempi A'Ra (Archmage) of Elvenhome. He is regarded as the most powerful magic user in Elvenhome, and the second most powerful user of True Elven Magic, second only to King Sinhion Elarie. Though the King has more raw strength, Hagre is more skilled with the Art, then any other Ellasti.
Hagre trains all the Masters of House Fatsolar, and maintains the powerful Mythic Wards that help protect the Elven Forest. He is considered by many to be the second most powerful Elf in the City.
Hagre is also know for his arrogance. He believes strongly in the separation of the Nobility and the commoner Elves, a attitude that is unpopular in modern time. He also strongly believes in the superiority of magic over fighting arts. He is also a firm believer of Elf over other races. This attitude makes him unpopular with many younger elves, even some of those in the nobility.
Hagre also feels that all users of Magic, especially True Elven Magic should be part of House Farsolar, and will often bully elves into joining. The fact that the King's Adopted daughter, who is skilled in magic and True Elven Magic has remained in House Elarie is the reasons for a long standing animosity between the two houses. Hagre and the King do not let this interfere with the running of the city, but it is a point on contention between them.

Personal history

Hagre is one of the few Elder elves left on Nor. He was born in Arvendar, and came to Nor with the other elder Elves after they were exiled from Arvendar. Like most Elder, his memory of his time in Arvendar is a confused jumble, but he knows he held a position of power there. When the elves were sent to Nor, and first encountered the new world, he was sure he was not going to survive. He tried to use his influence to get the other to help him, but the other Elves denied him any authority. They claimed in the new world, each person was equal. This angered Hagre, but there was not much he could about it. He tried to find shelter, but had no idea what he as doing, and was resigned to the fact that he was sent here to die.
When Sinhion started to organize the elves, he resented him at first. Especially since he had no skills that could help them survive. He did not know much about manual labor or survival. He was tasked with finding Firewood, and almost left at the indignity. He wasn't quite ready to die though, as he wanted to find a way back and get revenge for being exiled.
Over the next few days, he was as miserable as he ever remembered. Until the orc attack. Sinhion had gathered those who knew how to fight, which Hagre did not, but during the battle when Sinhion used True Elven magic for the first time Hagre felt it. He knew what Sinhion could do and after the battle began to experiment. He found that he was one of the Elves that has the gift, and could use this power. He realized that this could make him useful, and if he learned it well enough, the other would have to make him leader.
Over the coming days he worked hard at the using the power, and the other saw how useful it could be and let him concentrate on it instead of other duties. He came to master it, and suggested that he should lead the elves, but the other didn't agree. Sinhion has done much more for their survival, and they chose him to lead the elves. It was the beginning of Hagre's dislike of the Elven King.
While Sinhion concentrated on building a city, Hagre concentrated are finding other who could master the MAgic, and teching them (Though always holding back enough to make sure they did not overshadow him). Although his Skill with the Art was second to none he could never match the raw power of Sinhion, something that bother him to this day.
When Elvenhome was fully established it was Hagre idea to have a ruling council, made of of only few houses. The others agreed though none of them knew at the time that it would lead to a class system, where some were considered Nobility and other were considered commoners. Hagre used his position to ensure that the Great houses held most of the power in Elvenhome.
During the long years since then, Harge also learned Human Magic and has spent a lot of effort making house Farsolar the second most powerful house of the Elesti.
Hagre has always felt that the Elves had a place atop the other races in Nor, as they were the first of the humanoid races to walk Nor (The Dwarves actually existed before, but had not been seen on the surface, so no one knew they existed). His feeling have grown eve stronger in last few years. Not only does he feel it was humans who brought the Rule of Tahkene to Aranthar but he also has a personal reason to dislike Humanity.
Hagre's daughter had always bee a problem child. She had no interest in learning magic and instead wished to pursue other scholarly pursuits. He was fascinated by the world around her, and she would draw images of plants and animals other things she encountered. While she had some skill at magic, she did not have the calculating nature that is needed for most Spellcasting. Hagre assured her that she was just not applying herself hard enough, and there were many arguments between them. She became so angry with him that one day she left the forest.
She was gone for over 2 years, and Harge used all of his resource to find her. When he finally did, he found her traveling with a human priest. They had been together for some time, and were traveling over Emic collecting human stories. He had her brought back to Elvenhome against her will. What he didn't know at the time, was that her and the priest had become lovers, and she was carrying his child. The priest knew though, and knew that he could not enter elvenhome due to the powerful ward and the elves that protected it. He did know of an old story though, that guaranteed passage to anyone carrying a leaf from A sword tree.
While it took him several months he managed to obtain one and made his way to Elvenhome, where he was allowed in due to ancient traditions. He came in the guise of a story collector and though Hagre knew that his daughter traveled with a human, he did not know this was the same one. Hagre welcomed him, as the priest said he studies stories of human mages, and thought Hagre might be interested.
That night, the priest and Hagre's Daughter stole away from elvenhome. The priest used his magic, to get them away safely, and they were never seen in the city again. Hagre tried to locate them, but now that they knew he was looking, they took precautions. Hagre has held a deep hatred for human ever since.
