Mosaw Tar Pits

The Mosaw Tar pits are located in the forest southwest of Haram Bay on the island of Mosaw . These pits are the source of pitch used by the shipwrights in the city, They are also barreled for sale to other ports around Aranthar. The tar quality is very high and marketable.
Jolly Jones, the owner uses Mocar "indentured Servants" to work the pits and collect the tar. The job is very dangerous and would cost Jolly quite a bit if he had to pay workers, so instead he buys the contracts of Mocar prisoners, or debtors so they can do the work. Due to the danger of the job, there is always a need for more workers.
The are around the pits are geologically active and not only is this activity responsible for the Tar pits, but also several hot springs around the area that draw tourist due to their rumored healing properties. Due to this Jolly has had to also hire guard to ensure that people are not getting to close to his operation. Additionally further south the spring get even hotter and sulfurous, and there re time when winds blow the dangerous gasses from the Sulphur pools towards the Tar pits causing Jolly to shut down until they pass. Fortunately this is a rare event.
