Fort Shark

This small fort / tower sit east of Haram Bay on the shore of Mosaw Island. The fort is is one of three on the island along with Fort Hammerhead on the souther shore and Fort Minnow on the the eastern shore.
The Fort itself dates back to long before the island was runs by the Dains, and possibly even before it was used for Hesh production. The building are round towers with a lage inner chamber. From there stairs wind around the inside up to the roof. The roof houses a large Cannon powerful enough to disable ships docked at Haram Bay.
The Fort is manned by a few guards that are loyal to Olyvia Dain. Because of its closeness to the Port, the guard are not usually a pemenant presence here. They take shift and go back to the Bay at the end of thier shift to be replaced by new guard.

Purpose / Function

What the forth was originally used for and what it protected is lost to history but it now protect the Poert city of Haram Bay. The cannon can reach the actual docks of the city (And even fire into the city itself needed) and can also hit ships in the channel leading to the bay.

Architecture

The original fort was made of large stone blocks and was a simpler design that what is is today. The staircase used to be on the outside of the tower, and when Dain renovated the post, she enclosed the staricase fo give the men inside some measure of protection. The roof has crenelated walls and a thick trapdoor protects access just in case anyone breches the inside of the tower.

Defenses

The Fort has only one entrance bound by an iron door. The insode is open makign the door a choke point. The stairs are desinged to make it easier for though higher to swing thier blades than those lower. Finally a strong woodn trapdoor can be locked from the roof preventing anyone inside the tower from getting to the roof. A similar lock also locks from inside th etower but is not as strong.
