Flensburg

Located in the forests surrounding the city of Dragsmund, Flensburg was the site of an uprising that ended when the village was burnt to the ground. A few of the villagers returned and rebuilt but most left. Now Flensburg is just a few houses attempting to keep the forest back.
The village inn is situated just inside the main gate and ran by an old couple that take great pride in the quality of their beer. Many a traveller has had reason to be grateful for the kindness of the Nevins and has left with fond memories of their warm fire and warmer friendship.
Every village has a local saint or small god they worship alongside the established pantheon. Flensburg has a shrine to an old inhabitant called Molly.
Flensburg was destroyed in a fire, that part is true but what the local lord kept quiet is that he ordered the burning. Flensburg was the site of an important battle. Graznul, the orcish necromancer brought his horde of undead orcs down from the blue mountains after raiding and slaughtering thousands of humans and dwarves. The king in Dragsmund sent his army against the horde and the final battle was fought at Flensburg.
After the fighting was done the piles of bodies were pushed into a mound and covered over with dirt. The orcs were buried in one mound and the king's dead in another. as the years passed the memory faded until the hill became a part of the village. The stones erected to commemorate the battle covered in ivy and moss. Children started going missing and spirits plagued the town. More people started dying until one fateful night the dead rose from their graves and set about feasting on anyone left alive. The lord had sent an investigator, a tax collector to the village, Bren and co? They were at the inn on the night of the disturbance. They battled the dead and survived the night to get the survivors away and warn the lord. In the following days the lord's company assembled and set out for Flensburg.
