Asiel Blackwood
Overview
Asiel Blackwood was the patriar of House Blackwood at the time of fall. Nobility was different in it function in prefall Novus, with aristocracy being appointed by Magekings and Magequeens of Novus to serve as city functionaries. Asiel Blackwood was on track for such an appointment at the time of the fall.
In the wake of the fall, Asiel discovered and sheltered Shura Riovelle, the last living heir of the Riovelle line. He took pains to hide Shura's existence until her heritage could proved authentic by the manifestation of Shura's sorcerous abilities. Sadly, she never manifested her magic, even after aid from Eamon Vecturinius.
Shura later married Asiel's son, Destin Blackwood, effectively merging the Blackwood and Riovelle bloodlines.
