Timecog District
Overview
The Timecog District of the Bronze Ring a highly mechanized region of the city. It is believed to be the once engineering hub of the city, key to the various mechanical functions that kept Novus flying. It is a central access point to the Mekanos Infinitum though its access to the labyrithine passages of machinery throughout the Iron Ring is limited.
The Timecog District is overseen by the Gearworkers Guild, whose guild hall is the central hub for reconstruction efforts. Artificers flock to the district to purchase parts need for their tinkering and the abundance of warehouses that store all manner of parts make the district an ideal space for inventors of all kinds, from hobbyists or careermen. The Deerai Collective has a branch of it operation here -- the Renkita Institute of Mechanical Design and Theory-- which trains machinists, artificers, and inventors.
The Timecog District is also home to the budding industry of automaton creation. A variety of factories, worshops, and assembly labs are here, crafting robotic machines to assist in both the reconstruction but to also automate various industries in Novus. The practice is seen as controversial, particularly by the Gearforged, who see automotons as blurring a divide between master and machine which bears implications for their race of ensouled constructs.
Gearforged who are adamant about perserving their kind have established and enclave here -- a settlement called Axiom which is dedicated to the preservation and advancement of Gearforged ideals. It is rumored that the Axiom is a hotbed rebellious notions as prejudice increases against the gearforged. It is also rumored that the settlement contains stockpiles of everwound springs and memory gears, two vital parts to the continued existence of the gearforged. Tensions continue to mount over this community, as inventors look with envious eyes towards these rumored stockpiles.
The Timecog District bears more resemblance to the sort of architecture one might find on the Copper Ring and is thought by some to be a bastion of civilization amongst the rougher elements of the Bronze Ring.
