Rào Cỏ blinkgate station
The Rào Cỏ blinkgate station orbits Vieivaao, and is the most distal blinkgate station from Cradle, at least until and unless the blinkgate station in the Dawnline Shore is completed. It is one of the largest blinkgate stations, perched on the edge of The Long Rim and its billions of tons of trade and millions of colonists passing through, held tenuously together by Interplanetary Shipping-Northstar's Dawnline Shore Transit branch of its corpro-police force, Trunk Security, and local overworked Vieivaaii arbiters and watchstanders.
The station consists of five large rings stacked vertically, each with between 8-12 zones, which are arranged horizontally. The blinkgate station control tower lies at the nominal "bottom" of the station, while the actual blink-piercing equipment lies at the other end, pointing upwell. Ships usually dock nose-first at one of the rings, or maintain geosynchronous orbit around Vieivaao itself. A space elevator connects the station to the surface of Vieivaao, where the unruly Omphalic Market has sprung up around the downwell terminal.
Without stable artificial gravity, the station relies on centrifugal force for gravity, decreasing as one approaches the spine of the station, eventually reaching a zero-g environment in the spine itself. This passageway is officially used for bulk cargo transport, but it is also a frequent hideout for criminals and general delinquents alike. Rumors that then-Lieutenant Djarnir Kurniast vented this entire area to extirpate die-hard water thieves that had set up shop here are viewed as a cautionary tale at best. Certainly, no records exist of this.
