Wi'a Hus ('wiʔa hus)

Wi'a Hus (literally translatable from the Shajīn as "last settlement") is the southernmost outpost known on Nys, very close to what is considered to be the edge of the world. It lays on the Phiaro river amidst the Khata Desert in the Shajīn Kingdom.

Government

The outpost itself is nothing more than a bunch of mud hats encircled by a wooden fence. At any given moment there should be half a dozen guards and a ferrymen or two waiting for us. The ferry usually departs when another comes in, which should happen once a week. If you missed it, make yourself at home and help with whatever the people need. Be aware of the fact that descending the river to the capital takes quite some time (about a week, depending on weather conditions).

History

They were even able to bend rulers to their will. Take our own kingdom, for instance: apparently, they had some kind of business at the southern border of Nys, near the point where the Phiaro river is born from the sand. But what could they do in such a forgotten place in the middle of the desert? Nothing. Cue their power over Nysian countries: they asked (persuaded? Forced?) our Kingdom to found an outpost right where it was more convenient for them. It lies in such a remote place that we called it Wi'a Hus, the last settlement. They even got the King to extend the routes of our ferrymen to resupply the half-abandoned settlement and to erect an obelisk.

Natural Resources

Shajīn Urban Geography: a Guide for the Cajenian Merchant, Brendiau Vil
Nobody lives in Wi'a Hus: the outpost was founded to exted the kingdom's influence to the southernmost reaches of the Khata Desert, but there are no natural resources there, unless someone at the Royal Academy of the Sun finds a way to put sand to a good use. The Kingdom was keen on abandoning it but, as it came out, the Cosmos Wayfarers were interested in using it as a base of theirs. The place is now regularly resupplied of just about everything. Sensible merchantes will not find any business here.
