Tara Thessaly
Fanny and Vega Spritzer witnessed this young woman being arrested in the Port Metro for stealing a "cog" from Anthur-Ro. She was apprehended by an Archon of the Circle with his security detail. She dropped the "cog" -- a pillow-cut emerald about 5 inches wide and 2.5 inches high -- in the course of being seized with ice blasts and magical laughter. She broke her nose falling into the curb. The "cog" skipped next to Fanny's skirt, and with a deft movement Fanny covered it up and eventually made away with it.
For her part, Vega felt the arrest was unjust (could just be the racism talking) and ran after the rickshaw in which the thief was bound and transported. By the time she hit the Starboard Metro, she was marching right behind it making full eye contact with the gnomes, who eventually started yelling at her in an attempt to figure out what was wrong with her.
Vega continued to pace after the rickshaw for hours until she felt insulted by the Archon -- who, it must be said, was completely justified in making a lawful and proportionate-force arrest of a thief caught red-handed -- and as the rickshaw passed the Foxall Fountain, she magically caused a pair of tidal waves to crash into the rickshaw, killing two of the gnomes, freeing Tara and wiping out a square block of residential Foxall in the process. The flow of water also ruined five market kiosks and send debris over the edge of the shell, knocking six dockeys into the water. Only four were recovered.
Joining the masses fleeing from the devastation she had wrought, Vega took Tara to The Ladies' Hiking Club rendezvous point at the Moons. There, Fanny discovered that Tara was a member of the Guild of Knife-Throwing Ladies and sweet-talked her into believing she was also in on whatever job she was on when she lifted the cog. In the course of that conversation, Tara let spill that she was working for the "big guy", Reghyxesh, on the "inside team". She said that the "cog" was for use inside the Anthur-Ro library, and that how to get into Anthur-Ro in the first place was the "outside team"'s problem.
Convinced that Fanny was a member of the "outside team" and that the cog was therefore in the right hands, she considered this "fuckin' Mission Accomplished" and washed her hands of the whole affair, leaving the meeting at the Moons Inn with every intention of getting off the Shell once and for all. You'll probably never see her again, but Kate Micucci has just signed on to star in her prequel spin-off series in Iford. Early reviews are not great.
