Foxall

A lively and fashionable district on the Corran side of the Shell, Foxall is the antidote to the conclusion that Correhome is the Empire that Fun Forgot. Sufficient aristocratic capital has been put down into Old Town that there are virtually no goods or services on offer in what has largely become a ritzy suburb. For shopping, entertainment and dining out, one can either head forward to the well-trod, cosmopolitan Metro, or further aft to Foxall (likely abbreviated from 'forecastle' ages ago), which has something of the romance and whimsy of Rosemount about it.   Like that famous Corran resort town, Foxall is largely tourism-based in its economy but is also a thriving merchant-class town in its own right. Dominated by commercial and industrial properties, most "residents" of Foxall either occupy the numerous flats and apartments above shell-level or commute in from Old Town or Rightfin. For the moment at least, Foxall is one of the few places on the Shell, if not the Empire, where a smart kid with a good idea can legitimately get ahead.

Catastrophe on the Aft Side

A residential block and some critical infrastructure in Foxall was wiped out by an unexplained land-based tsunami on 23rd Winterfall 866AD. Two twenty-foot waves rose up from the vicinity of the Foxall Fountain and crashed into the nearby townhomes, causing some injuries and washing away five of the established kiosks on the Empire Street Market.  The clockwork charging substructure of the train station was also crippled and is currently under maintenance.   At the nexus of the tsunami was a Circle paddy wagon transporting Tara Thessaly, in custody for burglary.  The Archon and his journeyman drowned under the weight of the water and cart, but the novitiate studying with them managed to swim to the shallow edge of the wave and escape.  He certainly remembers the aggressive stranger and is no stranger to magic, so it's likely he'll put two and two together eventually.   There were no third-party witnesses to the cause of the tsunami at all (though certainly some people noticed a disguised Vega Spritzer hollering after some gnomes on a rickshaw moments before it was blown apart and washed away.)   As a result of the damage to the station, the mass transit system no longer reaches to Foxall, Rightfin, Blackwood or Drakesight. There is local service from Drakesight to Foxall every two hours.
