The Lamplight Inn

A 45-year mainstay of the Shorefolk community in Wandering City and the venue in which Beulah Garland got her start as a cabaret performer, The Lamplight Inn is a cozy Tudor-style pub with little in the way of pretense. Squished between Halfling rowhouses, it stands three storeys tall, comprised of a main floor with a kitchen, bar, performance space and two small rooms; a second storey with eight rooms; and a third-storey apartment with peaked roofs that has fallen into disuse.

Ownership and Finances

Minnie Stone has taken charge of the Inn after the passing of her father, the former proprietor, despite knowing little about the culinary arts. She understands business well enough, however, and laments that the loan the elder Stone took out from the Frasca family has rendered the Inn permanently unprofitable. The Frascas seem to adjust the interest as necessary to continue "shearing the sheep" but keeping the old girl in business, if barely. As a result, Minnie is working excruciating hours to keep the place up herself, running it with no staff. She confessed to Beulah the amount of principal outstanding is 2,400g.

Upper Apartment

The Lamplight's penthouse is reasonably well-appointed, with beds to sleep six and a table to feed ten.  It has a hearth and kitchenette, a small WC with vanity and mystery door and two enclosures for work or study with an incredible view of the water.  A handful of cheap books line the copious bookshelves.  The entrance door is iron-banded and heavy, and there is a large iron wall safe in the starboard-aft corner.
