Hell Hound hosts are Humans possessed by the cthonic spirits who give them their name.

Kitsune who have achieved the rank of Kiko or above can possess other beings, including other kitsune.

Peter Hale possessed Lydia Martin, believing that he would soon be killed. When this proved to be the case, he used the possession to force Lydia to ressurect him.

Gods may also possess mortals if they choose, although some deities are more inclined to do this than others.
