Frozen Monoliths

Frozen Monoliths are tall, strange and unnatural structures that are commonly found throughout the frozen wasteland. They are created by Living Ice for reasons that are unknown. They are generally seen as dangerous structures, feared by all throughout the lands. People have gone missing around these structures because of the surrounding dangers, and nobody knows what is going on inside these monoliths...

Purpose / Function

The purpose of these buildings are unknown, and few are able to get close to them to investigate due to the amount of radiation that comes from the monoliths, as well as the usually large amounts of Living Ice that surrounds the perimeter of the building. What is known is that in the cases where a Living Ice has a dead body with it, they will bring the corpse to the inside of the structure. Explorers have reported seeing vast quantities of Edenite being brought inside the tall structure as well.

Architecture

Each Monolith has the same shape, being a large; black structure that reaches up high into the sky. The one time someone managed to get a chunk of the material off of the Monolith, they discovered that it was made of some sort of unknown matter, not one that anyone in the frozen wasteland has seen. There can be an entrance found on a side of the building, though generally it's always covered in ice.

History

Sightings of these structures began shortly after the appearances of the Living Ice, with people reporting the creatures wandering around in a square path, manipulating the surrounding snow to rise upward. As the snow and ice raised higher and higher, the black material would soon form into existence underneath it, rising up slowly. This would continue until the structures reached miles into the air, with any remaining snow drifting down on top of the tall structures. This is as far as human knowledge has gotten people, as despite any attempt at further investigation, the most people have gotten is from a distant glance due to the risk involved with dealing with the Living Ice.
