Circle of the Crown-Fire Keepers
The Circle of the Crown-Fire Keepers is a druid circle at the far edge of the Western Woods, on the border of the Endless Magma. Their name comes from their extremely close proximity to the Crown-Fire Grove and the Elemental Plane of Fire.
They are well-known for their connection with and control over fire. Many keep tiny elemental spirits of fire as familiars; these familiars can shift between animal-like shapes and their original, more fire-centric forms.
Public Agenda
The Circle of the Crown-Fire Keepers guards the lands immediately around the Crown-Fire Grove, with the intention of keeping a safe boundary between the peoples of the Western Woods and the protective, territorial peléans within the grove itself. More generally, they are protectors of the border between the Western Woods and the Elemental Plane of Fire, and bearers of the gift of fire towards denizens of the Material Plane.
History
The human druid circle that would eventually become the Crown-Fire Keepers has existed since time immemorial. The circle's identity as protectors and keepers of fire dates back to the Birth of the Nuel-Orokh. Legends of the circle say that Saint Ilga herself approached this circle, who then lived far on the eastern edge of the Woods (in what today remains orokh territory). Ilga had amassed a small handful of fellow Orokhim Lightbringers at this point, and most humans she attempted to approach feared her and her disciples. This circle, however, was willing to listen to her and accepted Prometheus's gift whole-heartedly.
