Prostomurakhim

The Prostomurakhim (Orokhimshe: "those who stand in darkness") are the Gruumsh-worshipping Orokhim tribe nearest to the border of the Western Woods. They are the sworn enemies of the Torch of Tygrar and the most direct living successors to the Roc-Talon Horde.   The battle standard of the Prostomurakhim is pure black with a thin red-tasseled edge. Unusually for orokh clans, the forces of the Prostomurakhim are never split into battalions or other smaller subdivisions. Rather, the Prostomurakhim carefully choose raiding targets individually, well in advance of their planned attack. They ally with vassal organizations, such as bands of highwaymen or nobles with ambitions as warlords, to weaken these prospective targets before charging in full force with an attack. If their victims do not immediately surrender, they face total obliteration.   The current ruler of the Prostomurakhim, Nehtanyos the Fanatic, has been in power since Y1083. His leadership style emulates the warlords of the Age of Integrity, particularly Kishin the Indomitable, though he is far more open to negotiation with other military and paramilitary powers than older orokhim chieftans often were. This openness, however, does not extend to the Nuél-orokh tribes of the Prairie Clans, and especially not to the Torch of Tygrar. In Y1099, Nehtanyos ordered the slaughter of all Ariunokhim who had not already pledged themselves to Gruumsh, and has since refused any further diplomats from the Torch, ariunokhim or otherwise.

Foreign Relations

There has long been a simmering rivalry between the Prostomurakhim and the Pack of the Black Claw, which has only worsened under Nehtanyos's rule. Though the two clans have very similar goals, the disparity between the Pack's stealth- and ambush-based approach and the Prostomurakhim's use of vassal entities and blitz tactics causes animosity when both happen to choose the same target for their raids. Small skirmishes between the two clans are not unheard of.
