The Elven Genocide

The Elven Genocide refers to the systematic and brutal extermination and displacement of the Elven race in Orienta during the early years of the Imperial Era (IE). This dark chapter in history marked the end of the Elven Age and the rise of human dominance in the region. It was perpetrated by Human Rebel Forces and Allied Dwarven Mercenaries.   The genocide was characterized by widespread massacres, forced marches, and the destruction of Elven culture, resulting in the near-total eradication of the Elven people from Orienta and their subsequent exile from the North.   Once the human rebels gained the upper hand in the conflict, many commanders amongst their ranks began a campaign of extermination against the Elves. Entire Elven cities and towns were razed to the ground, their inhabitants slaughtered without mercy. Key locations such as the once-great city of Thaloris became sites of horrific massacres, where tens of thousands of Elves were put to the sword.   The genocide was not limited to the physical destruction of the Elven people. There was a concerted effort to erase their culture, history, and identity. Elven libraries were burned, sacred groves were cut down, and works written in the Elven language destroyed.

The Conflict

Outcome

Thousands of Elves were killed, with tens of thousands more driven from the North. The bulk of the Genocide was carried out on The Velvet Coast following the human victory in The Human Rebellion. A second wave of killings took place on The Velvet Coast in the immediate aftermath of The Devastation of Skyreach.

Aftermath

Elven depopulation of the North. With the exception of the Free City of Cymara, very few Elves remain in the North.
