Imperial Prince
An Imperial Prince, also simply called an Elector, is the highest rank held by nobility in The Empire of Man, second only to the Emperor of Man.
An Imperial Prince, who may be male or female, serves as the feudal ruler of one of the Empire's constituent Electoral Provinces, the primary subdivisions of the realm. As their title implies, each Imperial Prince holds one vote to determine the next occupant of the Imperial throne upon its vacancy.
Succession for an Imperial Prince is typically hereditary, passing from parent to child, but this is not a strict rule. Often, the current Imperial Prince must designate a successor, usually choosing from their extended family if they are childless. Should an Imperial Prince become unable to perform their duties due to illness or other reasons, an "acting Imperial Prince" is appointed, typically the heir presumptive.
All Imperial Princes also hold the rank of Empire General due to their position. However, they can delegate this authority to trusted retainers if they are not inclined towards martial pursuits.
