Kingdom of Eustria

The Kingdom of Eustria, founded in the year 7844 AC by King Rollo, was a formidable power in the western region of Rodinia. Its legacy is deeply intertwined with the region that now bears its name, and it is most celebrated for its incredible walls and fortifications. Eustrian walls, known for their strength and durability, have withstood the test of time and continue to protect the lands from Orc hordes, vast armies, and even the mightiest of monsters. These structures are not just physical barriers but also symbols of the strength and resilience of the Eustrian people.

While much of Eustrian history has been lost to time, the significance of their final years remains well documented, highlighting the kingdom's lasting impact on the region. The walls and forts of Eustria remain a crucial part of the region's defense, standing as a testament to the kingdom's once-great power and influence.

History

During the Great War of Undeath, Eustria, like much of the continent, found itself besieged by relentless undead hordes. Although initially shielded by its western location, within six years, the relentless tide of undead reached Eustria, bringing the kingdom to the brink of annihilation. Amid this darkness, two devout followers of Solomon - God of Life emerged—Norman and Gaelem. These men were not just preachers but warriors of faith, heralding a new dawn with their divine teachings.

Norman and Gaelem preached the word of Solomon, not merely as a beacon of hope but as a tangible solution to the undead scourge. Their faith granted divine powers capable of smiting the unholy undead with ease, and their message resonated deeply within the desperate hearts of the Eustrian people. In a matter of months, the entire nation of Eustria had converted to the Solomite faith, placing their trust and loyalty in Norman and Gaelem. The two men led the kingdom to victory after victory, turning back the undead tide and inspiring a fervor that united the land.

As their influence grew, so too did their popularity, far eclipsing that of the current king, Willmunger. The king's reluctance to embrace the new faith further alienated him from his people, who saw in Norman and Gaelem the true saviors of their nation. By the beginning of 9119 AC, the tension reached its breaking point. The people, no longer concerned with the undead at their gates but with the inadequacy of their king, gathered in massive mobs outside the imperial palace. They demanded that King Willmunger abdicate in favor of Norman, who they believed was the rightful leader ordained by Solomon.

Faced with overwhelming pressure and the undeniable tide of public opinion, Norman eventually approached the king. With great reluctance, he promised Willmunger safety and a peaceful retirement in the Kingdom of Breton. After lengthy discussions, the king and his family departed quietly, and Norman was crowned as the ruler of a new nation, the Kingdom of Outremer. This kingdom was born with a singular purpose—to purge the undead hordes from the continent. Eustria, as it had been known, was quietly replaced in the name of a greater good, becoming the heart of a new crusade against the forces of darkness.
