Tintagel, also known as "The City of Blood," is the current capital of The Desert Lands in the Kingdom of Mordred. The city earned its ominous moniker due to the lack of traditional currency and the pervasive use of blood as a medium of exchange.
Situated in the Gobi Desert, Tintagel stands as a fortified bastion and boasts the largest population in the province. As the principal city in the Gobi, Tintagel serves as the hub for all desert-related activities. The Gobi is a harsh and unforgiving landscape, where the nomadic tribes' disdain for civilized folk is merely one of many challenges. Tintagel frequently finds itself under siege by ambitious tribal leaders who mistakenly believe they can conquer its formidable walls.
Despite the constant threats, Tintagel remains a safe haven for adventurers braving the desert. The city buzzes with trade between a few cooperative tribes and the rest of Mordred. The culture of Tintagel starkly contrasts with that of Mordred; while Mordred folk are known for their crude, brutish nature and loyalty to the state, the inhabitants of Tintagel live freely, with little regard for loyalty. Tintagel resembles a lawless prison more than a city within a kingdom, embodying a unique and rebellious spirit.

History
The Imperial Province of Raaroland was an ancient imperial province of The Empire of Man, ultimately destroyed during the Great War of Undeath. Its capital, Tintagel, once thrived in the days before the Gobi Desert was forged. In those times, Tintagel served a role similar to today, acting as a base of operations and a frontier city guarding against external threats.
Tintagel endured destruction twice: first during the Great Waaagh! and again during the Great War of Undeath. Following these devastations, the city was first rebuilt by Raarolanders and then secondly the nomadic tribes of the Gobi, only to be later conquered by the Kingdom of Astaroth. Eventually, the Kingdom of Mordred replaced Astaroth, establishing Tintagel as the capital of The Desert Lands within their realm.
