Arlanger

Resting on the northern shores of the Edensea lies the township of Arlanger, a prosperous trading hub connecting Eizenblume to the eastern lands of the Meadow whose ships must pass through its port in order to reach the western sea. Arlanger was founded at the end of the the second age following the War of the Iron Roses when elves, dwarves and the wild men of the Aardwulf isles contested for control of the region.   For most of its history Arlanger existed as little more than a destination hamlet for those seeking respite, for the waters of the Edensea are warm and heated by geothermic activity from the dormant volcanos that line upon its eastern rim. Its waters are one of the few places in Orr where one can find fresh-water coral reefs, as well as a diverse arrangement of unique acquatic-life. It's a destination spot for newlyweds for its warm waters, diving excursions and resorts.   However, in the late years of the fifth age its importance has grown as the illustrious Tetrastone Mineral Company began to take a great interest in the rare minerals of the region and the sunken elven city of Lleweyen (pronounced: 'Lah-way-in') that lies beneath the surface of the lake... Tetrastone has fallen, very recently, out of favor in the northern lands of Drin due to a scandal that saw its proprietor leave to the frozen north of the world, Ancorran.   Perhaps this endeavor is a desperate maneuver to regain the trust of its shareholders and affluent backers.

Lleweyen

Once the shining capital of the western reaches of the Valenruun before the War of the Iron Roses, the sunken city of Lleweyen that lies at the heart of the Edensea is now only a memory of its former glory and station. The name of the city translated from the sylvan tongue of mer meant: the city of the Silver Tree. A monicker it shared with its sister capital of Laefalorn in the eastern reaches of the Valenruun whose name meant the city of the Golden Tree.   Though it is difficult to imagine it in the fifth age, the entire Edensea was once a highland, densly populated with conifer forests and rolling hills. But at the end of the dreadful war that saw the elven kingdoms shattered the archmages of Lleweyen were forced to make an impossible choice. The magics of the first and second ages was of a height and caliber unlikely to ever be seen again, and with a powerful Mercian spell they sank the city into the earth and flooded most of the southern reaches of Eizenblume. While scholars disagree as to the exact reason that this was performed, most elven histories simply interpret this destructive act as a final defiance. The Lleweyen mages would rather destroy and bury their homeland than allow the invaders to lay claim to its treasures and relics. The Dwarf Lords of that era, of course, wrote only that "The elves have saved us the trouble of having to keep pissing on their graves."

New Discoveries

With the inguitity and entrprise of Drin backing them, the artificers of Tetrastone have acquired the means to develop a new M.A P. design based off the Explorer's Mechanica to venture even deeper into the sunken realm of the Elven Capital. This mechanical bathosphere, piloted by only one of their finest astronauts is destined to set sail as soon as... the company can find an adeventuring party willing to brave the dangers. A call to adventure has been sounded throughout the region of Eizenblume to take part in this once in a lifetime excursion, but few baring the skills, and grit have made themselves known.   The public goal of this adventure has been stated as the recovery of pre-cataclysm heirlooms. Ancient Elven relics and artifacts. But rumors abound that the submergable itself could have only been procurred if King Drin, the lord Eternal of the Iron Realm, saw need for planar travel. Either way. Tetrastone is offering a proverbial dragon's hoard to any souls brave enough to delve into the secrets lying in wait in the sunken city of Lleweyen.

"Tetrastone Mineral Company is the the premier guild of artifice from the Azure Mountains to the Angel's Ribbon. We specialize in Magitomic Automechanica Prototypes (M.A.P.'s in short) for daily use in a number of different labor intense fields. Our Automechanica are designed from the ground up for each individual project, ensuring that their specialization always matches our client's needs."   "And what about some of the... 'cases' of these robots--"   "Automechanica. A "robot" is a thing. The Automechanica are much too sophisticated to be considered a thing."   "Ah, apologies. What about the cases of these Automechanica going... let us say 'rogue' that have been reported?"   "I can assure you that while there are still many important delivery systems which need to be fine-tuned to our M.A.P's behavioral processes, these are simply slanderous rumors being slung by our competitors in the field of artifice."
