Gedder Zee

This sea separates mainland Frisia from Roverseiland. Given it's location, pirates typically sail in this area largely avoiding Frisian ships and robbing any others. For this reason, most shipping avoids cutting through the Gedder Zee, even though it would be a shorter route and instead sail all the way to the west of Roverseiland, where they are more likely to avoid any pirating, or at least have a better chance of spotting them first.

Geography

Nestled between Roverseiland, Kleinseiland, and the Sherpe Rosten, the natural land areas around the Gedder Zee make for smooth waters most of the time. The sea is fairly shallow and teeming with fish.
Why would I go all the way around Roverseiland when I can cut a day off our journey by way of Gedder Zee?
