Edmund Bettigar

Edmund is the child of Baron Thomas Bettigar IV, he was the 4th of 8 children, and the second born son. As such, he was largely not included in the lessons of Baronage from his father, who always pushed him more into literary studies rather than leadership. Edmund recalled his father saying "Thomas (Jr) was the heir, and Edmund was the Spare" 
The Bettigar Family was betrayed by Their Rosso, a Rosso in Andrimian society is a close personal advisor and confidant, Rosso Ceiello was Baron Thomas's and he conspired to have the family murdered, he brokered a deal with Rozad, the Priest of Ajax The Invincible to assist with this task in exchange for the construction of the Church of Ajax inside Bettigar Keep. Unbeknownst to the Rosso, Edmund was chosen as an insurance policy, then given to Bonebreaker Durokor as a pet to be used against the Rosso should he ever act outside Ajax's interest. 
Edmund was rescued when Oden "Dok" Suv Auberdine "Dean" Callisto Callisto Mora Tel Mithryn and Noelle Keshal as they raided the castle then known as Brokenspire Keep. At such time they discovered his identity as the heir of Bettigar, they had concidentally been framed for the late baron's murder by the Rosso and barely escaped Bettigar Keep with their lives.
After a few days the group elected to contact Kenway Dalrath, who was the cousin of Thomas and by extension, his son. Kenway agreed to send someone to retrieve Edmund. This was Lady Avalina Du'Monde, who the group had met previously. Avalina escorted Edmund back on the nearly months long journey North, then began training him in swordsmanship under the direction of Lord Kenway.
Over the next two years, Edmund resided nearly exclusively within the walls of Dalrath Keep, and occupied himself with his previous hobby of reading, and his new found love of training with Lady Avalina. Lord Kenway's presence as baron also undoubtedly rubbed off on Edmund as he longed to take back his throne from the murderous Usurper.  
After a long wait, the opportunity for Edmund to prove himself emerged, The annual Tournament of Kings, hosted by the Rosso for the first time; after two years of unrest and near economic failure in the the city had created a hostile environment. Through a bribe made by Lord Kenway to the Bank of Brydella  Edmund was allowed to have a representative enter the event under the guise of being a baron of the Torisian Gulf Islands; He chose Mora Tel Mithryn to represent him, who went on to win the tournament of Kings. 
Edmund, with the help of Kenway and Auberdine "Dean" Callisto Callisto  was revealed to be alive again to the shock of the people in attendance, and publicly accused Ciello of Murder; challenging him to meet him in the circle as his prize for winning the event. 
The Rosso obliged but with a twist, he made his son Marco Ciello represent him as champion in the contest, an attempt to expose Edmund as a soft boy who did not have the needed gall to be baron, lacking the conviction to kill anyone but the Rosso himself; Edmund struggled against the larger, older boy; but he was able to find his footing and subdue the champion; the conditions of the contest were death, but Edmund said he only wished to kill Lord Ciello. Ciello made a comment regarding Edmunds family, and unleahsed the inner rage within the boy, Edmund charged from within the circle and slashed out at the usurper; The Knights of the Black Rose, shaken by the accusations against their lord, hesitated to intervene as Edmunds sword found its mark, the Rosso fell to the ground clutching his throat's wound, as Edmund raised the shield of Avalina above him and brought it down on the Murderous advisors head, ending his quest for revenge. 
Edmund was hailed as the "Flaming Sword of Vengence, by the people of Bettigar, for the gauntlets of flaming fury gifted to him by Dok provided him with a memorable entrance and fight, his longsword aflame as he both accused the baron and slashed out as his throat.
Edmund was named The Baron of Bettigar and named Patty Shrillwhistle   as his new Rosso; with the help of his friends in Dalrath and Rend, the future looks bright for the Barony with the young lord at the helm.
