Being the first sons of both Melora and Pelor, Kord and his brother Odin were granted similar powers. The rivalry between the both of them was legendary, and to this very day continue their feud over who is more powerful. The early years filled mostly with minor bouts in the plane of Ysgard. Odin took better to the people of the plane, sympathizing better than his brother did. Kord was filled with a drive for more, and this change seperated them as time passed.

Pelor did not call on Odins aid in imprisoning Tharizdun, one that Odin took personally. Kord used this time to show off his might, and he took it personal that Ioun was injured. The fight left him rattled, and the following battles of the Dawn War grew him into the Prime Deity he is known for in modern times.

In the beginning, he fought with pure might, over powering betrayer gods and primordials was test of his strength. Controlling storms came as he mastered this gift. When Moradin gifted him the Thunderspear, his capabilities became feared by the betrayer gods. Where his brother strives for peace for the people of Asgard, Kord strives for conflict. Each fight a lesson. For Kord those that are capable must fight for those that cannot.

His most notable moments in the Dawn War was his fight along side Corellon in the Kal-Munza Dominion. With one precise throw of his spear, he pinned Lolth to a mountainside. Her removal from the fight spelt defeat for the Drow, driving them deep into the earth. The second would be the final battle of the dawn war. Out numbered, he stood against three primordials capable of reducing him to ash, and turned the war in the favor of the Prime Deities. A single storm that he conjured was enough to destroy the primordials, and almost destroyed the plane of Limbo along with it.

In modern times, Kord is worshipped by many in times of drought, praying for storms to provide them with prosperity. All who fight in War utter words of appreciation when they survive battles, believing they recieved his blessing. Each of the gods of war have champions that conduct actions in their name across Osserea. Once per year these Champions hold a contest to see who reigns mightiest of them.
