The Sanctuary of the Law Bearer

"Utilize the company and aid of others. The efforts of the individual often pale against the capabilities of community."   "Strive to tame the wilds in the name of civilization, and defend the points of light and order against the chaos of darkness."   "Uphold and revere the spirit of invention. Create new settlements, build where inspiration strikes, and expand the edicts of the justice." Erathis, The Law Bearer

The goddess of justice, and order is seen in many nations, her vigilant statues overlooking courthouses and districts of law for her blessing. The scales of justice stand balanced on both heads of a battle axe on each of her statues. This balance is to show that if you fall to far onto either side of the scale, you will face the blade. Clerics and Paladins to Erathis wear these holy symbols with pride, acting out as representatives of local laws.
All followers of 'The Law Bearer' act out her will while maintaining laws of the nation they are within. In some portions of the world they will join on voyages, helping to bring civilization to unclaimed portions of the world. Due to this commandment of her people, she goes directly against the beliefs of 'Melora, The Wildmother', whose commandments demand keeping the wilds of the world protected and untamed.   Erathis founded her first temple in a flying city she founded known as Tumholde, its tall gleaming spires and alabaster courtyards gave her followers a location to worship and enact her will. The city traveled the world of Osserea, providing hope to the people they aided, and spreading her will. During the Dawn War, the city if Tumholde remained over the nation of Durbar, which would later become the home of her largest temple.   In the middle years of the Dawn War, Erathis and Tyr would first encounter one another on the battlefield. Tyr and his followers were locked in a fight the betrayer god known as 'Gruumsh, and if it had not been for her addition to the fight, Tyr would have likely died. The bond between the two after that day was known across the world. Every battle the gods entered was ended swiftly. After years fighting aside one another the two would marry, leading to an unbreakable bond between both their churches, and the nations of Anathod and Durbar.   Tragedy first struck the two in the city of Tumholde however, they were ambushed by the Demon Princes Orcus and Demogorgon. The battle was long, and Erathis suffered a grave wound when Demogorgon destroyed the city of Tumholde, fragments of the flying city crashing all across Durbar. Where Erathis lay in the wreckage though, she watched as Tyr sacrificied himself to banish the princes to the Abyss.   Erathis in modern times continues to fight on the frontline of the Abyss, her goal being to save Tyr from his imprisonment in the Abyss. The city of Tumholde was never rebuilt, remnants of what it stood for can be found across Durbar, their locations viewed as hallowed ground.
