Hugh

The current Maréchal of Les Chevaliers d'Outremer, Hugh was Sénéchal under Fulk and staged an abortive coup against him which resulted in his exile. Returning under the patronage of Melisende, he seized control of Fulk's castellany and reformed it into Les Chevaliers d'Outremer.

Historical Notes

Hugh is named after the eponymous Hugh du Puiset, a Crusader nobleman who had a rivalry with Fulk of Anjou (after whom Fulk is named) and who "was rumored to be on too familiar terms with the queen [Melisende]" according to William of Tyre.
