Queen
Overview
The Queen of Éirigh can arise from any class, though she is commonly either a Noble or the daughter of a Laird. The King alone can select and appoint his Queen through marriage. The power the Queen holds is determined between herself and the King, and has looked very different across the years.
Appointment
Typically, a Queen is coronated shortly after or during the wedding ceremony. In the case of The Máirtín Royal Family's seizure of the crown, however, the King and Queen were coronated in the same ceremony.
Duties
Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Queen have varied vastly throughout the history of Éirigh. In the reign of the The Slánaitheoir Royal Family, she often took a very active role in the ruling of the kingdom, whether that be assisting the Royal Clerk in managing the Palace, or acting as the primary ambassador to foreign nobility. However, in The Máirtín Royal Family, the title is primarily ceremonial.

I really like the fact that the power the queen holds changes from king to king. I also like that it's possible for the queen to come from the commoner class. :D

Me too! The values the Slánaitheoir family held have a LOT to do with plot developments in books two and three, but it's really fun to see how they shaped the world at large, as well. :D
