Story Vault Headquarters
Purpose / Function
The Story Vault uses this tower as the centre of headquarters. They collect stories from across Vellikka and store them here for safe keeping. Those which are considered important are also shared across the land by Travelling Vault so that others may learn from them.
In addition to a storage space, the Story Vault Headquarters is also used for training members of Story Vault and is also sometimes visited by Storytellers from across the land to gain additional learning and experience.
Architecture
The Headquarters is a collection of five towers, each built at a different time in a slightly different style, despite all being constructed with the same red stone from the Milam Mountains.
The earliest is also the shortest, only five stories high, and built in a square shape, each floor smaller than the one below. From a distance it looks a bit like steps.
The second tower was built several decades after the first, and is more like a square-based pyramid. It is seven stories high, and while each floor is smaller than the one below it, it is smoothed down, the walls leaning inwards.
The third tower is cylindrical, also seven stories high, and has the earliest example of a spiral staircase in the middle of it. The windows are arch-topped plain glass, and there are also several balconies. On the fifth floor there is also a walkway connecting it to the second tower.
The fourth tower is also cylindrical, but is ten stories high. It has connecting walkways to all the other towers, as well as several large stain-glass windows.
The fifth tower reverts to the square shape, but looms over the others at 15 stories high. It has several external as well as internal stone staircases, and has a large balcony which reaches out over the entryway for the compound.
Beneath all the towers is a warren of cellars and basements.
