Kukai Classical Era

Era beginning/end

0P.C.E.
1/1

Hundreds of years after the first village was founded by the followers of Oal-Mer, keeping track of historical events becomes imperative. As a result, the first kukai calendar is created, the Kukai Pupetuux.

The first village for the followers of Oal-Mer was founded sometime during the Pre-Classical Era; around 600 years before the new era transition. However, what marks the beginning of the Classical Era is the creation of the Kukai Pupetuux, the first official calendar for the kukai. As prosperity grew on Oalmer, the only settlement at that time, the kukai were looking for a way to keep record of their historical events. This represented a huge change from pure oral tradition, which had already changed some of the myths and legends told by the kukai. In a way, this situation was the first challenge to preserve culture and tradition, and so the utopia.   Kukai of three different professions worked together to create the Kukai Pupetuux. The Bat were farmers and gatherers, accustomed to earth and weary of seasonal changes. The Bam were known as the "healers", although they were passionate observers of nature and seekers of knowledge, the closest thing to scientists back then. And the Nur, who had recently created a writing system, would make sure that the calendar could be useful for kukai of all other professions.   And so, the Classical Era officially begins on day 1 of Xa-pupaili in year 0 of the kukai calendar (Kukai Pupetuux).
